Sensitivity helps show how much sound a loudspeaker produces from a specified electrical input. With comparable measurement conditions, a higher sensitivity means more sound pressure from the same input, which can affect amplifier requirements. Check the stated distance, frequency range, test environment and input reference: ratings at 1 W and at 2.83 V are not automatically equivalent for different impedances. Sensitivity does not describe bass extension, distortion or maximum output on its own. For powered Bluetooth speakers, also compare measured system output and sound quality, because amplifier gain and processing affect the result.
