DEXP Russia Portable Party Speaker OEM Case Study | Deluxe AV

Executive Summary

This case study outlines an OEM speaker project developed for DEXP, a Russian customer serving both chain retail and e-commerce channels. The project focused on a 60W portable party speaker with dual 6.5-inch woofers, built on a mature private-mold platform rather than a full first-stage 3D development route.

The customer’s goal was straightforward. The product needed to move into the market on a practical timeline, with lower development risk and stronger control over production readiness. Deluxe AV supported the project from product matching and requirement confirmation through sample approval, production preparation, quality control, and batch delivery.

The program moved into stable supply and reached annual shipments of 50,000 units.

Customer Background

DEXP is a customer in Russia operating across both retail and e-commerce channels. For this project, the customer needed a speaker product that could work in two places at once: on the retail shelf and in online product listings.

That changed the sourcing logic. The customer was not looking for a concept model or a long early-stage development cycle. The priority was to work from a product base that was already mature, reduce avoidable delays, and focus on the details that would matter in actual channel sales.

Project Requirements

The product direction centered on a portable Bluetooth party speaker with dual 6.5-inch woofers and a 60W configuration.

The main requirements were clear:

  • a mature private-mold product platform

  • no full 3D first-sample development route

  • 60W output

  • dual 6.5-inch woofer structure

  • better control over battery and product details

  • readiness for repeated batch supply

  • suitability for both retail and e-commerce channel sales

The real challenge in this project was not technical novelty. It was choosing the right mature product base, making the necessary adjustments, and moving it into production without slowing the project down.

Why DEXP Chose Deluxe AV

DEXP needed a supplier that could do more than provide a sample. The project required practical judgment at the beginning and stable execution later.

Deluxe AV was a good fit for three reasons.

First, we already had a mature private-mold platform suitable for this category. That gave the project a realistic starting point and avoided unnecessary early-stage development work.

Second, we could adjust the product around the customer’s actual priorities, including power output, battery arrangement, and detail-level refinement, instead of pushing a fixed standard model.

Third, we could support the full transition from confirmed sample to production. For a channel customer, that matters. A good sample has limited value if production, inspection, packaging, and shipment are not equally stable.

Product Matching and Development Support

The project began with evaluation of an existing mature speaker platform. Instead of opening a completely new structure, Deluxe AV worked from a completed mold base that already matched the product category and market direction.

This shortened the confirmation process and reduced unnecessary development uncertainty. It also made discussions with the customer more practical. Both sides could focus on what needed adjustment rather than restarting the entire product path.

After the platform direction was confirmed, Deluxe AV worked with the customer on several key points. These included power setup, battery-related considerations, and product detail refinement. The purpose was not to make the project more complicated than necessary. The purpose was to improve a proven product base so that it better matched the customer’s sales channels and commercial expectations.

Production Preparation

Once the sample direction was approved, the project moved into production preparation. Deluxe AV supported the process through a structured workflow that included:

BOM confirmation
packaging confirmation
trial production
process review
material follow-up
inspection preparation
shipment planning

This stage was important because it turned the project from a sample-based discussion into a workable supply program. For retail and e-commerce customers, this transition is where many projects become unstable. In this case, the preparation process helped keep the path under control.

Quality Control in Mass Production

Channel customers need repeatability. The first shipment is important, but the later shipments matter just as much.

To support production consistency, Deluxe AV applied standard control measures across the project, including incoming material inspection, in-line checks, aging tests, finished-product inspection, function verification, and packaging inspection before shipment.

These controls helped keep output more stable during repeated production runs and supported ongoing supply for the customer’s retail and e-commerce channels.

Project Outcome

The project moved from product confirmation into stable batch supply for the Russian market. Sample approval, production execution, and shipment coordination were completed in a controlled way, and the program continued beyond the initial order stage.

Annual shipment volume for this project reached 50,000 units.

This result matters because it shows that the selected mature private-mold route worked in practice. The product did not stop at the sample level. It entered repeated channel supply and proved commercially usable in real-market delivery.

What This Case Shows

This project reflects a common pattern in speaker sourcing for retail and e-commerce customers. Many buyers do not need a completely new concept at the start. They need a mature product base, the right adjustments, and a supplier that can carry the project into repeatable production.

That was the value of Deluxe AV’s role in this case.

The work was not about making the process look more advanced than it was. It was about keeping the project practical, shortening unnecessary development steps, and supporting a speaker program that could move into steady supply with less risk.
