Record USB-C receptacle and board revision, CC and power-path design, charging IC, firmware, battery pack, connector, cable supplied in the box, approved adapter if included, enclosure parts, thermal interface, and charge indicators. State supported input profiles without assuming capabilities that were not implemented.
The USB-C specification guide explains why connector shape, input power, cable, and adapter compatibility must be specified separately.
Include the retail bundle, project-approved references, and a reasonable set of compatible sources for the target market. Identify each adapter and cable by model, rating, certification status where relevant, length, conductor capability, and condition. Do not test damaged or unapproved sources as normal-use evidence; keep them in a separate fault investigation.

Repeat both reversible plug orientations. Check full insertion, retention, wobble, intermittent connection, debris control, and strain from the supplied cable. Operate the product in normal positions so cable weight and enclosure geometry are represented.
After connector durability or transport testing, repeat a shortened thermal sequence. Rising contact resistance can appear after wear even when charging still works. Stop and investigate discoloration, odor, softening, repeated negotiation, visible damage, or unstable current.
Run the approved audio, light, display, and microphone state while charging. Log whether the battery continues to charge, holds state, or discharges because system load exceeds available input. Record acoustic limiting, LED reduction, display reset, radio dropout, and temperature changes.
The battery-management article helps frame the interaction among charger, pack, product load, firmware, and protection.
Set limits using the applicable product safety standard, component ratings, material limits, certified design, and target-market requirements. Do not copy a temperature limit from another model or from a sensor location that is not equivalent. Accessible surfaces, internal components, battery, cable, and connector can have different criteria.
IEC 62368-1 uses an energy-source and safeguard approach for audio/video equipment. The applicable national or regional edition, certification scheme, abnormal tests, and measurement method require a qualified laboratory or compliance reviewer. This engineering test does not replace certification.
Reducing current can hide a connector, solder, cable, component, or thermal-interface defect while increasing charge time. Localize loss with electrical and thermal evidence. If a design change is required, update drawings, BOM, firmware, supplier controls, inspection, and first-lot verification.
Compare multiple production-intent samples and cable lots. Use the sample-comparison guide to retain sample identity, failures, corrections, and approval evidence.
